INGREDIENTS
- Cookie Cups
- • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- • ⅓ cup brown sugar
- • ⅔ cup white sugar
- • 1 egg
- • 1 tsp vanilla
- • 2 cups all-purpose flour
- • ½ tsp salt
- • ½ tsp baking soda
- Decoration
- • ¼ cup pink dipping chocolate, melted
- • 2 cups light green dipping chocolate, melted
- • 1 Tbsp Aiya Culinary Grade Matcha, sifted
- • ¼ cup black icing
- • 1-2 tsp vegetable oil
- • 6 chocolate chewy candies
- • ½ cup tan icing
- • ¼ cup brown sugar
DIRECTIONS
- 1. Make the Dough. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugars together. Mix in the egg and vanilla. In another bowl, combine the flour, salt, and baking soda. Gradually add the flour mix to the creamed butter. Mix until just combined.
- 2. Bake the Cookie Cups. Bake the cookie dough in the cookie cup pan according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For a metal pan, bake for 10 minutes at 350°F. Remove from the oven and cut off any extra expanded dough. Bake for another 10 minutes. When finished baking, remove the pan from the oven and allow the cookie cups to cool inside the pan. After completely cool, remove the cups carefully.
- 3. Make Baby Yoda’s Face. On parchment paper, draw Baby Yoda’s inner ears from pink melted chocolate using a toothpick. Allow to set. Mix Aiya Culinary Grade Matcha into light green melted dipping chocolate. On parchment paper, draw his face and outer ears from the matcha chocolate using a toothpick or lollipop stick. Attach the pink inner ear while the matcha chocolate is not yet set. Pipe Baby Yoda’s features using black icing fitted into a piping bag fitted with a #2 tip.
- 4. Prepare the Cups. Spoon 2 tsp of green Matcha chocolate into a cookie cup. Use a small culinary brush to brush the insides of the cookie cup with a thick, even layer of Matcha chocolate. Use more Matcha chocolate to paint the rim and the top ⅓ of the outside of the cup. For a smoother look, dip the top ⅓ of the cup in Matcha chocolate thinned with vegetable oil. Shake off any excess.
- 5. Make Mini Teacups. Cut each candy in half. Shape a teacup from each piece of chocolate chewy candy. Use your fingers and the thick end of a chopstick to shape. Fill each teacup with a small amount of Matcha chocolate. On parchment paper and using a toothpick, use Matcha chocolate to draw Baby Yoda’s hands. Draw 2 hands for each teacup. Allow to set. Fingers facing the center, attach the hands to the sides of a teacup using tiny dabs of Matcha chocolate.
- 6. Pipe Yoda’s Coat. Pipe Baby Yoda’s collar and sleeves using tan icing fitted into a piping bag with a #12 tip. For the sleeves, pipe 2 small blobs of icing. Leave a center space for the teacup. Generously sprinkle brown sugar atop the icing. Gently brush off any excess. For the collar, slightly flatten the icing with the tip of your finger. For each sleeve, use the tip of a chopstick to create a hole impression like the inside of a sleeve. Use a knife to create a diagonal line on his collar.
- 7. Attach Yoda’s Face and Teacup. Use Matcha chocolate to attach his ears to his face. Attach his face to the cookie cup using the same Matcha chocolate. Finally, attach a teacup to the space in between the sleeves.
- 8. Serve with Green Milk & Enjoy! Mix together the ingredients for a cold Matcha Latte. Pour into the Baby Yoda Cookie Cups and serve immediately. May the force be with you!
