Handmade Matcha Pizza

Matcha naturally interferes with yeast, so this Matcha Pizza recipe calls for more yeast than a standard pizza recipe. Try making this with friends and loved ones!

INGREDIENTS
- Pizza Dough
- • 2 Tbsp Aiya Culinary Grade Matcha
- • 1 ½ cups bread flour
- • ½ cup cake flour
- • 2 tsp dry yeast
- • ½ tsp salt
- • 4 oz lukewarm water
- • 2 Tbsp olive oil
- Tomato Sauce
- • 1 Tbsp olive oil
- • 2 tomatoes
- • ¼ onion
- • 1 clove garlic
- • ¼ cup soup
- Toppings
- • ½ cup shredded mozarella
- • 1 tomato
- • Basil (optional)
- • Anchovies (optional)
DIRECTIONS
- Pizza Dough
- 1. Sift all the dry ingredients except for the yeast together and set aside.
- 2. Add the yeast to the sifted ingredients and mix well.
- 3. Add the lukewarm water and olive oil and knead together until it forms a smooth dough.
- 4. Lightly coat a bowl with vegetable oil, form the dough into a ball, place in the bowl, and cover. All the dough to rise until it is about 3 times its size.
- Tomato Sauce
- 1. Mince the garlic and chop the onion and then sauté in a pot with the olive oil.
- 2. Boil some water in a separate pot and make X-shaped slices into the top and bottom of the tomatoes.
- 3. Lightly boil the tomatoes until the skin begin to wrinkle.
- 4. Transfer to an ice bath to cool them and then carefully peel away the skin of the tomatoes. Chop them.
- 5. Add the tomatoes to the onions and garlic and then pour in the soup. Simmer together.
- Assemble
- 1. Split the pizza dough into two and roll each out into a circle to your desired thickness.
- 2. Put sauce, mozzarella, basil, anchovies, and whatever toppings you want on your pizza.
- 3. Bake in a 400°F oven for about 10 minutes.
