Matcha Berry Polvorons

Polvorons are a type of sweet, soft, crumbly shortbread which has been shaped into small bites using a mold. There are many flavor variations of polvoron, but this one is made with Matcha to give it that smooth and rich Matcha flavor with a gorgeous jade color.


Matcha Berry Polvorons

INGREDIENTS

  • • 1 cup flour
  • • ½ cup powdered whole milk
  • • ½ cup sugar
  • • ⅛ tsp salt
  • • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • • 1 Tbsp Aiya Culinary Grade Matcha, sifted
  • • ½ cup freeze-dried, crushed strawberries & raspberries

DIRECTIONS

  • 1. Toast the flour on a pan at medium-low heat, until it turns a light tan color.
  • 2. Remove from heat. Let the flour cool for 10 mins.
  • 3. Sift the toasted flour, then combine all dry ingredients in a bowl.
  • 4. Mix in the melted butter. The dough will be very crumbly.
  • 5. Fold in the berries.
  • 6. Fill a silicone mold with dough, making sure to press down to compact it.
  • 7. Cover with saran wrap and place the mold in freezer for 30 min to set.
  • 8. Remove polvorons from molds. Allow to cool to room temp before serving. Enjoy!
